About the role

  • Move networks and functions to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures to maximize flexibility and productivity
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, Cloud Architects, and other team members to meet client needs
  • Design and implement AWS networking infrastructure from design to deployment
  • Deploy AWS VPCs, subnets, ACLs, and security groups
  • Deploy AWS Transit Gateways, VPC peering and other interconnect technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, BGP)
  • Implement and configure AWS Direct Connect connections
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation, Terraform) to ensure repeatable AWS infrastructure
  • Establish visibility into network operations through monitoring and logging via VPC flow logs and load balancer logging
  • Document development/pre-production/production network environments; diagram and test
  • Configure on-prem to AWS hybrid networking; validate connectivity
  • Advisory: advise clients on networking changes to support connectivity to AWS; execute migration plans and migration development
  • Participate in daily team meetings to review progress; maintain transparency and accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and/or 4-7 years of experience working in a predominantly AWS Cloud networking capacity
  • Strong working knowledge of leading AWS cloud security practices particularly as they apply to networking
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
  • Ability to work with multiple clients, in parallel
  • 1+ year of experience supporting work being delivered in a cloud environment (e.g.: AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Networking certifications (e.g.: AWS Networking Specialty, CCNA, CCNP, PCCSE, PCNSE, etc.)
  • Ability to work Eastern Standard Time but also support customers in different regions
  • 3+ years of project management experience in an external client-facing software development and / or cloud engineering (e.g.: AWS infrastructure development and deployment) environment
