About the role
- Design and Implement cloud networking infrastructure, including deploying Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) resources such as subnets, network access control lists, and security groups
- Deploying AWS Transit Gateways, VPC peering and other networking interconnect technologies and protocols (e.g.: Palo Alto, Cisco, BGP, etc.)
- Implementing and configuring AWS Direct Connect connections
- Deploying, testing, diagramming, and documenting development, pre-production, and production environments at the network layer
- Composing and leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g.: AWS CloudFormation templates, Terraform, etc.) to ensure repeatable, sustainable AWS infrastructure
- Establishing visibility into network operations through enabling and configuring AWS VPC flow logs, load balancer logging, and leveraging tagging for cost analysis
- Configuring AWS cloud infrastructure for maximum technical and budgetary efficiency
- Supporting the migration of customers from on-premises environments to AWS, including assisting in the development of migration plans and advising clients on networking changes needed to support connectivity to AWS
- Executing migration plans, including configuring on-premises to AWS hybrid networking and confirming connectivity between on-premises and AWS cloud environments
- Supporting rigorous project governance and execution: meeting with team members daily, holding team members accountable, submitting time daily, operating with transparency, being responsive, and communicating working preferences
- Collaborate alongside Cloud Engineers, Cloud Architects, and other team members; report to the Sr. Director, Cloud & Migration
- Serve as "Brand Ambassador" and stay current on leading practices to deliver high-quality, well-conceived solutions to customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in a predominantly AWS Cloud networking capacity
- 5+ year of experience developing AWS cloud infrastructure
- Working knowledge of leading AWS cloud security practices as they apply to networking
- Proficient in developing Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g.: Terraform / AWS CloudFormation)
- Work with multiple clients, in parallel
- 3+ years of project experience in an external client-facing software development and / or cloud engineering (e.g.: AWS infrastructure development and deployment) environment
- 3+ year of experience supporting work being delivered in a cloud environment (e.g.: AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Demonstrable knowledge of Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies
- Ability to work with multiple clients, in parallel
- Ability to working Eastern Standard Time Zone schedule, with the ability to travel to client site up to 25% of the time.
- AWS certifications (e.g.: AWS Networking Specialty, Developer Associate, Sysops Administrator Associate, Solution Architect Associate, etc.)
- Networking certifications (e.g.: CCNA, CCNP, PCCSE, PCNSE, etc.)
- US Citizen required
