Oversee the Antepartum Unit, providing care for high-risk patients through labor and delivery, recovery and postpartum in an ambulatory setting
Provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical supervision, maintaining quality outcomes and supervising all aspects of personnel management and development
Manage practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assigned unit
Establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes
Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit
Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit
Develop and maintain unit related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement
Maintain JCAHO and other regulatory standards
Manage operation of unit, analyze personnel structure, determine staffing needs and mix
Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination process and develop strategic plans
Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities
Directs unit participation in evaluation of new products
Approve purchases and establish or revise inventory quotes
Assist in the development and monitoring of budget
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Nursing is required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year of healthcare management experience
High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills
