About the role

  • Support the Accounting team with day-to-day finance and accounting tasks, financial reporting, financial analyses, audit assistance and ad hoc projects
  • Perform monthly Net Energy Meter Program customer payment process tasks including uploading files, voiding checks, corresponding with Customer Care, and filing unclaimed property
  • Perform month-end close tasks: journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports and analyze monthly financial transaction variances
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit requests
  • Administer corporate credit card program: review receipts, validate supports, assign accounting coding, perform reconciliations
  • Conduct strategic analyses to identify trends/anomalies and provide findings to stakeholders
  • Perform analysis on resource performance, payment calculations, and contractual/forecast comparisons
  • Prepare and validate monthly Customer Program P&L reports and ensure GAAP and contractual compliance
  • Create/modify accounting setups, expense allocations, payment structures, and monthly expense tracking for customer programs
  • Collaborate on evaluating, implementing, and testing new accounting and financial reporting systems, including ERP research and custom report design
  • Perform treasury functions including daily wire setup, lockbox certificate preparation, and cashflow forecast updates
  • Analyze and validate SCE Non-Energy Bill invoices and reconcile variances with billing counterparts
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for invoices, licenses, contracts, support requests, change orders, and vendor performance
  • Provide administrative support, track compliance report deadlines, assist with RFP preparation and support team meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently on projects with minimum supervision
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to fully own tasks, work, and processes with minimal oversight
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices including preparing correspondence and operating modern office equipment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience working with Tableau or other data visualization tools preferred
  • Energy industry experience and understanding of how energy markets operate is a plus
  • Large ERP system experience is a plus
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as R, Python and SAS is a plus but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant area of study required
  • 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Must be able to work at a desk and on a computer for prolonged periods
  • Must work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST
