About the role
- Launch and facilitate KNN's Northern Kentucky Nonprofit Coalition and local alliance of members
- Recruit KNN memberships and articulate benefits of state association and coalition engagement
- Support public policy advocacy and collaborative coalition-building among nonprofits in target communities
- Facilitate coalition meetings and relevant events, balancing KNN leadership and member empowerment
- Manage/facilitate discussion on actual and perceived conflicts of interest among members and partners
- Serve as coalition ambassador and point of contact with other local and regional organizations
- Develop and support trainings and resources that build nonprofit capacity (advocacy trainings, impact reports)
- Collaborate with KNN staff on event logistics and marketing
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment and support other team members
- Engage in social media to promote coalition and member work
- Travel regionally for occasional meetings and events as needed
Requirements
- Current or previous nonprofit executive experience (preferred minimum of paid director-level experience)
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit advocacy and legislative processes, particularly local government
- Proven track record of coalition-building, advocacy, and/or community organizing
- Ability to set legislative priorities and build consensus
- Decision-making skills and professional judgment to maintain nonpartisan relationships with elected and appointed officials
- Commitment to equitable access, inclusion, and diversity
- Exceptional facilitation and written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in building and supporting nonprofit coalitions and coaching nonprofit leaders to engage in advocacy
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities, synthesize information, and think strategically
- Experience facilitating coalition meetings and managing conflicts of interest
- Experience serving as an ambassador/point of contact with local and regional organizations
- Experience developing trainings and resources for coalitions and nonprofits
- Ability to collaborate on event logistics and marketing, and engage in social media
- Ability to travel regionally for occasional meetings and events
