About the role
- Lead the design and architecture of computer systems, including hardware, software, networking, and storage components
- Develop comprehensive system blueprints and specifications to guide implementation efforts
- Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and platforms and make recommendations
- Identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions to optimize performance and resource utilization
- Integrate robust security measures and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS)
- Design for scalability, redundancy, and resilience
- Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, DBAs, and other stakeholders to ensure interoperability
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation guides
- Provide progress updates and reports to project stakeholders
- Stay abreast of industry trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience 7-10 years in system design, architecture, and implementation
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking protocols, and storage technologies
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, C#, Python, and JavaScript
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, AWS or Azure Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Must be a US Citizen and Active Public Trust/MBI or have the ability to obtain one
