About the role
- Participate in establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team
- Contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities
- Identify and define necessary system enhancements using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions
- Install, support and maintain customer exposure systems
- Apply programming languages for design specifications and perform testing and debugging
- Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues
- Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and act as SME to senior stakeholders
- Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through technical experience and precedents
- Take ownership of the Ab Initio environment including installation, upgrades, Co>Operating System, GDE, EME, and licensing
- Ensure integrity and stability of EME through administration, code migration strategies, and environment checkouts
- Design and implement ETL solutions on Unix/Linux platforms and manage/optimize Unix file systems
- Architect and maintain high-availability and clustered Ab Initio systems
- Apply expertise in MFS/Serial files and data partitioning to optimize data processing
- Work with Control Center, Query IT, and AG web applications to monitor and manage the environment
- Continuously seek and implement opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to cloud ETL migration initiatives
Requirements
- 5-9years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
- Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Expertise in Ab Initio and Ab Initio environment administration (Co>Operating System, GDE, EME, licensing)
- Experience with cloud-based ETL migration and modern ETL tools
- Strong Shell/Unix scripting skills
- Experience designing and implementing ETL solutions on Unix/Linux platforms
- Knowledge of MFS/Serial files and data partitioning
- Experience with Control Center, Query IT, and AG web applications
- Experience in automation of operational tasks and environment management
- Ability to serve as advisor/coach and act as SME to stakeholders
- Understanding of risk, compliance, and security considerations in financial services
