About the role
- Reporting to the Middle Office Accounting Manager and responsible for a range of Middle Office accounting and valuations activity
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures, policies and guidelines and timely completion of accurate Net Asset Valuations
- Process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team
- Facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions
- Process securities transactions, provide analytic input for traders and aid in review of derivative products
- Identify and resolve securities and derivative settlement issues and make process improvement recommendations to leadership
- Analyze moderately complex reports to satisfy management requirements and aid in control activities
- Monitor and suggest solutions to errors to minimize risk and escalate transaction processing issues to appropriate departments
- Design and analyze moderately complex reports and assist with the launch of new products and services
- Assist with control activities and ensure processes adhere to audit and control policies
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made and drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business studies/technology or equivalent
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in Middle Office accounting with proven Middle Office accounting skills
- Fundamental understanding of Treasury products, accounting and regulatory policies
- Proven ability to perform various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of macros
- Strong “hands on” operational focus and ability to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in operational delivery
- Ability to ensure all deliverables within the Service Level Agreements are met
