Oversee multiple innovation projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and partner expectations
Guide Project Managers and Associates in developing scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables; provide oversight on risk management and quality assurance
Monitor progress, resolve roadblocks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to high standards
Support the design and rollout of new programs, services, and initiatives to expand CIC Institute’s influence and scalability
Contribute to project-level financial planning, budget management, and resource allocation
Establish project management best practices, tools, and templates to drive consistency and efficiency
Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, government sponsors, and ecosystem stakeholders
Serve as an escalation point for client-facing matters and represent CIC Institute at events and partner meetings
Collect and integrate client and partner feedback to improve outcomes and strengthen collaborations
Contribute to business development by identifying partnership opportunities, supporting proposals and fundraising, and managing MOUs
Track industry trends and recommend areas for growth and new services; support revenue diversification efforts
Manage, coach, and mentor Project Managers and Associates; support recruitment, onboarding, and retention
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture; provide feedback and development plans
Ensure effective internal communication and coordination with cross-functional teams; streamline workflows and contribute to internal reporting and organizational learning
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience
At least 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong background in project/program management (preferably in consulting, innovation, or related industries)
Proven experience in stakeholder management and client relationship building
Team management experience, including coaching and performance management
Experience working with governmental entities and/or strong background in a specific industry, technology, or science
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (advanced degree a plus)
Fluency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken)
Ability to legally work in Japan (CIC is unable to sponsor visas)
Passion for supporting startups, innovation, and ecosystem development
