Process all release of information (ROI) requests for medical information for the Hospital in a timely and efficient manner
Understand and abide by State and Federal guidelines, HIPAA, Title X, and 1976 Privacy Act
Safeguard and protect patient privacy ensuring only authorized individuals have access to minimum necessary medical information
Ensure all disclosures are documented and are in compliance with the request, authorization, Hospital policy and State and Federal regulations
Compile necessary information to satisfy requests for medical information
Act as point-of-contact to incoming customers and perform clerical activities to support ROI and other department functions
Process ROI requests using confidential safeguards, standardized procedures and non-routine methods within required time frames
Field inquiries and communicate ROI regulations, policies and procedures to medical staff, clinics, requestors and associates
Requirements
Preferred experience in Pediatric Medical Records Release
Prefer a Notary Public certification at time of hire
Associate's Degree plus 1-2 years' experience (preferred)
OR High School diploma, or equivalent, plus 3-5 years' experience (may be accepted in lieu of a degree)
Experience working with the public while juggling multiple assignments and resolving issues by researching details
Must be able to work at our Riverside, MO location
Seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment; willingness to be vaccinated if found non-immune to MMR and varicella and/or without evidence of Tdap since 2005
Will be asked to supply immunization records as proof of vaccination if selected
Personal interview, formal education and training, previous work experience, references and a criminal background investigation are all factors used to select candidates
