• Own and update Check’s BSA/AML and sanctions program, including drafting policies and procedures and building controls for KYC, investigating suspicious activity, filing SARs, transaction monitoring, training team, and enabling annual program reviews

• Serve as executive sponsor for key prospects and partners, driving engagement and alignment across the full partner lifecycle.
• Act as the voice of the partner in shaping Check’s roadmap—advocating for partner needs, surfacing insights, and helping define the company’s strategic priorities.
• Establish clarity and narrative around partner performance and pipeline, ensuring internal visibility into where we’re winning, where we’re at risk, and what actions drive faster revenue growth.

• Triage and resolve tax notice queues by priority, keeping partners informed with clear, timely updates.
• Engage directly with federal, state, and local agencies to investigate root causes, drive resolution, and pursue penalty abatements.
• Surface complex or systemic issues to product, engineering, and compliance for deeper investigation and long-term fixes.
• Spot trends across notices and recommend improvements that reduce risk and speed up resolution.
• Maintain and refine SOPs to capture best practices for agency outreach and notice handling.

Product Engineer

Risk

• We're seeking a Risk Analyst with a sharp eye for investigating entities and transactions and process improvement. You'll help shape our risk strategy and processes while collaborating closely with partners, compliance, legal, ops, engineering, and product teams to support customers, reduce risk, and build smarter systems.
• In this role, you will:
• Own and execute company reviews, payroll monitoring, and related processes with precision and clear communication across teams, partners, and customers.
• Build and maintain risk policies and processes, training teammates and partners as needed.
• Partner with Product & Engineering to improve risk tools, processes, and systems.
• Escalate potential fraud incidents, document insights, and drive resolutions with cross-functional teams.
• Many backgrounds could fit this role, but ideal candidates will have some or all of the following:
• Have 3 - 5 years of experience in risk and fraud investigation or a similar fintech analytics role
• Are detail-oriented and able to manage investigations from start to finish
• Excel at time management and handling multiple cases simultaneously
• Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external parties
• Have worked in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
• Are eager to refine processes and drive efficiency improvements
• Are curious and willing to learn new tools and skills (SQL experience is a plus, but not required)
• Ability to work Pacific Time Zone hours
• Ability to attend our annual 3-day company offsite in the fall
