About the role

  • Manage day-to-day logistics—scheduling trucks and rail shipments, coordinating with brokers, and ensuring deliveries land on time.
  • Work closely with project development to shape logistics strategy for new sites, particularly around biomass supply and bio-oil injection movements.
  • Proactively communicate schedule changes to internal and external stakeholders to avoid surprises.
  • Track and maintain documentation: invoices, delivery receipts, purchase orders, and keep payments on track.
  • Monitor costs, fleet utilization, and KPIs to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Partner with engineering operations to manage costs and field efficiency, develop inventory management practices, and propose process improvements.
  • Handle tactical operational details now and lay groundwork to scale the logistics function and grow a team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in transportation and logistics, ideally with hands-on trucking and/or rail operations.
  • Proven ability to run daily operations while also driving improvements and strategy.
  • Comfortable managing documentation—purchase orders, invoices, receipts—and keeping payments on track.
  • High communication bandwidth: you know how to keep everyone in the loop (whether by text, Slack, email, or phone).
  • Obsessed with details but adaptable when plans change.
  • Organized and proactive—you spot issues before they become delays.
  • Skilled at balancing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Tactical and strategic leadership capabilities to support and lead a growing operation.
  • Bonus: Experience with digital logistics management systems.
  • Bonus: Background in purchasing or leasing fleets (railcars, trucks, etc.).
Benefits
  • Competitive pay: $116,000–$140,000/yr depending on experience.
  • Fully paid health coverage: We cover 100% of your medical premiums.
  • Stock options.
  • 401(k) with matching: We match 50% of contributions up to 6% (after 1 year of service with no additional vesting periods after that).
  • Paid time off & parental leave.
  • Annual professional development stipend.
  • On-site perks: Healthy snacks and subsidized lunches.
  • Big mission, real impact: Be part of a company literally burying carbon underground.
