Coordinate, collect, and complete NSQIP/Pediatric and MBSAQIP data on preoperative risk factors, intra-operative variables, and 30-day postoperative outcomes for eligible surgical cases.
Enter over 130 data points accurately into secure registries (NSQIP and MBSAQIP) and ensure data integrity subject to external validation and statistical analysis.
Conduct ongoing data analysis to identify performance gaps, trends, special cause variation, and causal factors using graphical tools and advanced statistical methods as needed.
Build and submit quality assessment reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly to the NSQIP/Pediatric Advisory Committee and prepare reports for Surgeon Champions and committees.
Collaborate with Surgeon Champion, NSQIP Committee Members, Infection Prevention Program, and multidisciplinary teams to manage data, identify improvement areas, and integrate infection surveillance.
Function as an enterprise clinical data analyst, support program development, facilitate multidisciplinary teams/committees, and develop long-range quality/safety improvement goals and strategies.
Participate in monthly NSQIP: P SCR calls/Webinars and attend the annual ACS NSQIP conference; escalate data integrity or completion barriers to Senior Director of Safety and Quality.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters in Nursing or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in health care required.
NSQIP SCR Certification (required within 1 year of hire).
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.
Experience in program development.
Follows standards of good clinical practice and HIPPA guidelines in collecting protected medical information.
Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining accurate data entry following NSQIP: P program criteria.
Ability to identify occurrences per NSQIP program definitions.
Ability to participate in monthly NSQIP: P SCR phone calls or Webinars and attend the annual ACS NSQIP conference.
Must have ability to maintain integrity of database as demonstrated by external audit.
