Manager

• Collaborate with City Cast’s central marketing team to develop and execute a localized marketing plan and budget
• Conceive of creative out-of-the-box marketing ideas, test them and capture their impact

• Adapt national creative campaigns for local audiences across platforms

• Manage local PR outreach, building relationships with other local media outlets
• Plan and execute at least four member events per year

• Serve as the primary point of contact with the City Cast Twin Cities membership base
• Drive social community engagement daily across all platforms
• Monitor all local, audience-facing platforms and touchpoints to ensure consistency

Audience Development Manager

Producer

• Identify, research, and shape the podcast—helping the Executive Producer and Hosts decide on topics and guests.
• Find, vet, and book guests, conduct research and pre-interviews, and write scripts--with an eye towards creating smart, fun, digestible, accessible shows that help listeners feel more connected to DC.
• Coordinate with Executive Editor, Managing Editors and Executive Producer to translate articles and reporting produced by our reporters into compelling podcast episodes.
• Record and edit episodes, injecting style and distinctive flair into each day’s episode via your discerning use of good tape.
• Cover for the Executive Producer when they’re unavailable, ensuring seamless operations and captivating content.
• Occasional work with the Hosts and Audience Development Manager to create daily social media content.
• Contribute regularly on-mic, bringing your personality, local passion, and expertise to the show.
• Contribute to an inclusive, kind, supportive work environment that enables you and your team to do your best work.
• Manage podcast ad production. Write and produce audio for weekly podcast ads, in line with City Cast voice

Podcast Producer

• Pitch compelling, relevant, and timely ideas for the daily podcast, social and newsletter content
• Write the daily newsletter on assigned days with voice, humor, clarity, and relevance
• Prep for podcast conversations you’re contributing to or producing with the host and Executive Producer
• Edit episodes using Descript (or similar tools)
• Develop 2–3 beats or areas of expertise to regularly cover
• Occasionally go “into the field” to capture moments for social and beyond
• Contribute regularly on-mic, bringing your personality, local passion, and expertise to the show
• Work with the Host and Audience Development Manager to create daily social media content
• Produce ads to be included in podcast episodes

Creative Producer

• Own City Cast DC's full P&L — revenue, costs, and operating performance
• Set and execute the annual business plan, including subscription growth, advertising revenue, and operating budget
• Drive audience and subscriber growth through editorial and product excellence, keen marketing strategy, and an energetic community presence
• Work closely with City Cast HQ on strategy, capital allocation, and performance goals
• Directly manage and develop the DC leadership team, including the Executive Producer and Sales Director.
• Oversee and coach a high-performing, mission-driven organization of reporters, editors, sales staff, and audience development professionals.
• Foster a culture of editorial ambition, accountability, and innovation
• Serve as the connective tissue between a growing local operation and the broader City Cast network, sharing back insights and successful tactics and strategies
• Partner closely with the Executive Producer to ensure City Cast DC's journalism is indispensable, distinctive, and trusted
• Champion editorial standards, audience connection, and the City Cast voice across all platforms — podcast, newsletter, web, video, and social
• Be a visible and credible presence in Washington's media and civic landscape
• Lead local marketing strategy in collaboration with City Cast's national marketing team
• Develop partnerships, advertising sponsorships, and community relationships that extend reach and deepen local trust
• Build and drive a successful membership and subscription strategy, turning engaged readers and listeners into paying supporters
• Develop a clear-eyed competitive strategy for going up against established DC media brands — and winning audiences and advertisers away from them
• Identify gaps in DC's local news landscape and build products and coverage that fill them
• Stay close to the DC market: its politics, its neighborhoods, its personalities, and its needs

General Manager

Sales

• Own the number. Deliver and exceed annual advertising and sponsorship revenue across City Cast’s multi-platform network.
• Own the sales process end-to-end. Run a disciplined motion from prospecting through close to renewal: pipeline, deal review, pricing, negotiation, and handoff.
• Lead from the front. Bring an active network of advertiser and agency relationships and use it - opening doors, carrying the City Cast story into priority pitches, and personally closing strategic business alongside the team.
• Translate strategy into execution across local, regional, and national. Partner with the CCO on strategy and operationalize distinct motions across single-market, regional, and national buys.
• Lead, coach, and elevate the team. Bring out the best in our existing distributed sales team through hands-on coaching, mentorship, and clear expectations. Cultivate a high-performance culture where top performers grow their careers here.
• Drive forecasting and budgeting rigor. Own weekly pacing, monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and pipeline health.
• Operationalize the sales playbook. Refine the packaging, pricing, pitch narrative, and collateral that wins business.
• Partner across the org to level up what we sell. Work closely with client success, ad ops, and marketing to evolve and maximize product offerings.
• Own key relationships. Lead executive-level relationships with priority advertisers, holding companies, and agency partners, and serve as the escalation point on top accounts.
• Read the market and modernize the org. Track competitive activity and category trends, surface intel to the CCO, and own CRM discipline, sales tooling, and responsible AI adoption.
• Show up in our markets. Travel to City Cast markets throughout the year to build relationships with local sellers and partners. Expected travel is approximately 20% (subject to change).

Vice President, Sales

• Collaborate with City Cast’s central marketing team to develop and execute a localized marketing plan and budget that includes partnerships, sponsorships, PR, social and other tactics that have proven successful in other markets
• Conceive of creative out-of-the-box marketing ideas, test them and capture their impact
• Serve as the local keeper of the marketing calendar, ensuring the team is ready to execute across all platforms at key campaign moments
• Work with Executive Producer to identify regular opportunities to weave members into content across platforms
• Work with HQ membership team to develop special local member incentives such as locally designed artists prints
• Develop creative ideas for attracting, engaging, and retaining members
• Handle all marketing and engagement aspects of the local social media strategy
• Coordinate with the central marketing team to execute giveaways and influencer campaigns
• Attend IRL events on City Cast’s behalf
• Work in collaboration with the local Sales Executive to identify potential partnerships that blend sales and trade for mutual benefit
• Collect and create local content for marketing team to use in digital ads promoting City Cast Austin
• Manage local PR outreach, building relationships with other local media outlets
• Plan and execute at least four member events per year with support from HQ membership team
• Manage local membership campaign execution, ensuring strong and compelling messaging across podcast, newsletter, and social
• Drive social community engagement daily across all platforms, including monitoring and responding to comments and DMs on IG, TT, Spotify, YouTube, Reddit and other key audience touchpoints
