Performance Marketing

• Own the consumer SEM program end-to-end.
• Set strategy, execution standards, and the performance roadmap for an 8+ figure annual SEM budget across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and emerging AI-driven search surfaces, with clear accountability for high-intent traffic, leads, revenue, and efficient payback.
• Set goals and own the numbers. Define channel goals, forecasts, budgets, and KPI frameworks — CPL/CPA, ROAS, impression share — in partnership with Marketing leadership, Finance, and Analytics.
• Own budget allocation and pacing, and make fast, data-driven reallocation decisions to scale volume while improving efficiency.
• Live in the account. Oversee campaign architecture, bidding strategy, keyword coverage, audiences, feeds, ad copy and creative testing, and landing page optimization daily; maintain pristine account hygiene and a relentless testing calendar.
• Build and scale automation and AI. Drive feed-based automation, API integrations, Smart Bidding, signal-based strategies, scripting, and emerging AI-agent workflows to operate at scale — and act as the strategic owner for embedding AI/ML and generative AI into SEM workflows across bidding, query expansion, ad copy generation, and reporting.
• Grow beyond the ad. Think product-first about the full funnel — partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Lifecycle to improve landing pages, conversion rates, and onboarding, not just media efficiency.
• Stay ahead of AI-driven search. Anticipate how AI is reshaping discovery — AI Overviews, agentic search, Performance Max, an evolving SERP — and ensure Cars.com maintains strong visibility across traditional and AI-driven search surfaces.
• Own measurement. Define and maintain the SEM measurement framework — attribution, incrementality testing, media mix modeling (MMM), conversion tracking, and reporting automation — and translate performance into executive-ready narratives that connect search to acquisition, revenue, and payback.
• Strive for zero flaw campaigns. Set quality-assurance standards for ad copy, destination URLs, tracking parameters, and budget controls that protect spend, data integrity, and the brand.
• Manage partners. Own agency and platform relationships (Google, Microsoft) — strategic roadmaps, quarterly business reviews, troubleshooting, and performance improvement plans.
• Build and lead the team. Develop a team of SEM specialists, setting clear ownership and consistent operating rhythms.

Director, Paid Search

Account Executive

• Act as the primary point of contact for Cars Commerce customers, focusing on ongoing customer success, retention, and growth.
• Sell products and services to existing customers.
• Maintain relationships through regular in-person visits within an assigned geographic territory.
• Respond to client inquiries and recommend appropriate products and services.
• Execute sales strategy, identify and close upsell opportunities.
• Prepare reports and deliver insights that communicate measurable value to customers.

• Partner across selling and servicing roles at Cars Commerce to ensure customers receive maximum value from the Cars Commerce Platform.

Account Executive, Field

Outside Sales

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~15 Senior Account Executives across a defined multi-state region
• Conduct regular field rides, deal reviews, and one-on-ones to assess performance, reinforce consultative selling behaviors, and accelerate skill development
• Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier field sales talent
• Own regional revenue targets across the full Cars Commerce portfolio: Cars.com marketplace, Dealer Inspire, Accu-Trade, and digital media solutions

• Oversee territory design and account assignments to maximize market coverage and revenue potential across your region

Director, Field Sales – MidSouth

• Serving as a key contact for customers, focusing on customer sales and retention success.
• Assisting in managing account portfolios and maintaining revenue targets for various business lines.
• Supporting the sales or referral of Cars Commerce products/services to current customers and new prospects.
• Collaborating closely with the Enterprise Sales Executive (EAE) to execute account strategies.
• Preparing reports and audits for assigned accounts, pulling key insights to inform decision-making.
• Identifying and assisting in upsell opportunities, working with the Enterprise Sales Executive (EAE) to close deals.
• Demonstrating strong remote sales techniques and product knowledge to retain and grow accounts.
• Traveling up to 50% for client visits.

• Own and deliver the product roadmap for the OEM portfolio, including NCH, NVI, CPO, and related OEM programs.

• Serve as the primary product point of contact for OEM clients leading client-facing presentations, QBRs, and roadmap reviews in partnership with the OEM Sales team.
