About the role

  • Prepare and maintain assigned balance sheet and SOP reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.\n
  • Prepare journal entries as needed for accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.\n
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statement packages and support the month-end close process.\n
  • Record and reconcile monthly transactions related to retirement plans.\n
  • Provide support for the annual financial statement audit and the preparation of the annual IRS Form 990.\n
  • Utilize accounting software, ERP systems, and other IT tools to perform duties efficiently and accurately.\n
  • Assist in ERP implementation projects, including data review, transfer, and reconciliation between legacy and new systems.\n
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Institution to ensure the integrity and completeness of financial data.\n
  • Participate in cross-training to support the Finance & Accounting department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.\n
  • 2+ years of professional accounting experience, including GL and reconciliations.\n
  • Proven experience supporting monthly financial statements and month/year-end close processes.\n
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including v-lookups and pivot tables).\n
  • Demonstrated cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.\n
  • Experience in a nonprofit, research, or higher education environment.\n
  • CPA or CPA candidacy.\n
  • Experience with Workday (or similar large-scale ERP systems).
