About the role

  • Part of integrated project teams spanning research, analysis, consulting and client leadership
  • Operate autonomously and act as a role model for Associate Consultants
  • Research planning: help develop robust research plans with milestones and deliverables
  • Briefing researchers and providing professional constructive feedback
  • Formulating client-ready output: review, evaluate and develop primary and secondary research into concise client-friendly slide decks and summaries
  • Coordinate and participate in internal project meetings and external client meetings (agendas, minutes)
  • Attend conferences in the UK and overseas to deliver coverage and write daily client-ready summaries
  • Support workshops by contributing materials and assisting facilitators (e.g. transcribing discussions)
  • Develop commercial awareness to shape approach to project scoping and profitability
  • Contribute to business development: research and create proposal materials and represent company externally
  • Quality control and colleague development: peer review work, coach and support colleagues
  • Continuous improvement: contribute towards more effective and efficient ways of working

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualifications in life sciences
  • Typically 18-24 months working within competitive intelligence (demonstrable capability valued over tenure)
  • Planning, organising and prioritisation skills to complete deliverables and achieve milestones
  • IT skills across the Microsoft suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Primary and secondary research skills to identify appropriate data sources and information
  • Analytical skills to convert gathered research into relevant client-friendly outputs
  • Written and verbal communication skills to collaborate and develop user-friendly materials with clear narrative and logical flow
  • Attention to detail to ensure own and others' outputs are accurate and high quality
  • Collaborative and solution-focused attitude
  • Critical thinking to evaluate reliability of research findings
