Execute engineering design for a diverse range of building types and support clients and internal teams on multi-discipline engineering projects
Design power, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, load calculations, Title 24 modeling, studies, energy audits, facilities condition assessments, and construction administration, plan review, and plan check
Prepare contract plans and specifications, cost estimates, technical reports/studies, proposals, and presentations
Develop scopes of work, delegate assignments, and manage scope, schedule, resources, and budget
Support and/or conduct consulting exercises such as power/energy studies and facilitate client solutions meetings
Work on projects from concept stage through construction and provide construction document layouts
Consult on electrical design including electrical vehicle infrastructure and coordinate with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, installers, and utilities
Communicate directly with clients to understand project requirements and evaluate cost, feasibility, and implementation of electrical design
Supervise electrical designers and check work for accuracy
Conduct field visits to assess project viability and progress and provide detailed reports
Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and collaborative decision-making
Ensure all completed projects comply with relevant codes, regulations, and quality standards
Follow best practices and company standards for technical excellence and delivery
Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and innovative design techniques
Protect company information by keeping it confidential and use professional discretion and judgement
Follow documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions and maintain a safe and clean work area
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Required)
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Engineering Project Management (Preferred)
10+ years’ experience in building design of institutional, educational, healthcare, public (Required)
2+ years’ experience in project management including supervisory responsibilities (Required)
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of California (Required)
Valid driver's license required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record) (Required)
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (Preferred)
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure experience (Preferred)
Familiarity with California projects and codes (Preferred)
Ability to work independently and supervise others
Ability to perform hands-on production work, create detailed designs, and perform complex calculations
Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought
Highly collaborative spirit and experience working in a team
Problem-solving skills for onsite issues
Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, project management software, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Suite, and other project-specific applications
Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field for live data collection
Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job (walking, standing, climbing stairs, repetitive hand use, vision requirements, operating a motor vehicle)
Required travel by Plane, Motor Vehicle, Train up to 15% of the time; overnight stays may be required
