About the role
- Oversee overall operation and day-to-day implementation of property management policies for single-family Care Homes and supportive housing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulatory agencies
- Manage and supervise maintenance staff and contractors; oversee maintenance program and work orders
- Conduct property inspections, monitor preventative maintenance and annual inspections
- Respond to and provide direction during after-hours emergencies
- Train, mentor, and onboard Property Managers, Maintenance Technicians, and Program Associates
- Serve as Regional Property Manager when assigned or when the Regional Manager is unavailable
- Develop and propose improved systems and processes to increase efficiency and service quality
- Represent the organization to public agencies and the community
- Provide advisement/direction on property and resident issues to other Property Managers
- Provide input to Regional Property Manager for annual operating budget and manage reserve for replacement funds
- Monitor vendor payments and coordinate with Program Associate and Accounting for timely payment
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of property management experience
- Experience in affordable and/or supportive housing strongly preferred
- Experience working with people with disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of construction, repair, and/or renovation experience preferred
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to handle multiple projects and complex tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Strong time management skills and attention to critical deadlines
- Ability to adjust priorities under deadline pressure
- Fluency with standard office technology, including databases and e-filing systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Salesforce and/or property management software desired but not required
- Effective communication skills, especially across teams, departments and organizations
- Strong interpersonal skills, including customer service
- Experience supervising staff
- Some understanding of housing development
- Careful attention to detail
- Assertiveness, persistence, and follow-through
- A valid, clean CA driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle are required
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and mobility for standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces
