About the role
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, storage devices, printers, scanners, network hardware, cabling, and LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Deploy and integrate new state-procured hardware/software, create/restore workstation images, and troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and software issues.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, conduct diagnostics, manage backups, and implement upgrades or corrective actions to optimize efficiency, security, and reliability.
- Design and manage disaster recovery site replication, backup processes, and business continuity solutions.
- Support and enhance the website, applications, and email systems while ensuring compliance with state requirements.
- Provide secure remote access solutions for troubleshooting, file transfers, and collaboration with state agencies; deliver on-site and remote technical support statewide.
- Offer expert technical guidance on IT direction, infrastructure improvements, procurement recommendations, and system integration with other contractors or agencies.
- Assist with day-to-day operational tasks such as file restores, print configurations, and volume management.
Requirements
- Strong background in network engineering and IT infrastructure support
- Hands-on experience with workstation/server imaging, backups, and disaster recovery
- Proficient in WAN/LAN design, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Knowledge of secure remote access, file transfer protocols, and compliance practices
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
