About the role
- Design, implement, and lead the Military SkillBridge program end-to-end, including outreach, recruitment, selection, onboarding, placement, and post-placement follow-up
- Establish and maintain relationships with DoD transition offices, SkillBridge coordinators, veteran service organizations, transition counselors, and educational institutions
- Coordinate with hiring managers and business units to identify internship/work-placement opportunities mapping to organizational skill gaps
- Develop and maintain program materials: position descriptions, internship scopes, training plans, mentorship frameworks, and performance evaluation templates
- Screen and assess candidates, manage application and interview workflows, and ensure placements meet SkillBridge eligibility and timing requirements
- Ensure compliance with DoD SkillBridge policies, company HR policies, and any security/clearance requirements; maintain documentation for audits
- Create onboarding and orientation programs tailored to transitioning service members, including cultural integration and required certifications/training
- Work with HR, Learning and Development, and hiring managers to create competency-based development plans and measure participant progress
- Track program metrics (candidate pipeline, placement rate, conversion-to-hire, retention, time-to-productivity) and produce regular reports for leadership
- Manage budget for program activities, outreach travel, and any stipend-related coordination
- Serve as an internal and external champion for veteran hiring initiatives; represent the company at events and virtual career fairs
- Provide ongoing support to placed participants, facilitate mentorship match-ups, and coordinate feedback sessions with supervisors
- Improve program processes based on participant and manager feedback and industry best practices
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a large enterprise or regulated industry (Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing) and experience with security clearance application processes
- 3+ years of experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
- 3+ years of experience with the DoD SkillBridge program and military transition timelines
- 5+ years of experience leading projects that crossed multiple functions, organizations or systems
- Experience screening and assessing candidates and managing application/interview workflows
- Knowledge of DoD SkillBridge policies and SkillBridge eligibility/timing requirements
- Ability to ensure compliance with company HR policies and security/clearance requirements
- Experience creating onboarding, orientation, training plans, mentorship frameworks, and performance evaluation templates
- Experience tracking program metrics and producing reports for leadership
- Experience managing program budgets and coordinating outreach travel
- Ability to represent company at military transition events and community partnerships
- Ongoing participant support experience, including mentorship coordination and feedback sessions
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
- Preferred: Certification in program management (PMP, PgMP) or HR (PHR, SHRM-CP)
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience recruiting talent
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience using Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in program management, recruiting, veteran outreach, or workforce development; experience with military transition programs
- Preferred: Experience building cross-functional relationships with HR, hiring managers, training teams, and external stakeholders
- Preferred: Military service and/or experience working directly with transitioning service members
- Must be able to work onsite at one of the listed U.S. locations
