About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT projects/initiatives of low to high complexity requiring business analysis and project management support
- Assist with establishing, implementing, and conducting project management activities to achieve project objectives within mandated timelines for PAL or PDL projects
- Manage Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases: planning, design, development, implementation, go-live, post-implementation stabilization, monitoring, and project close-out
- Perform project management activities related to scope, schedule, cost, issues, risks, resources/stakeholders, status, reporting, communications, and change management
- Complete project close-out activities following client project management standards, methodology, artifacts, and deliverables
- Perform project management services in accordance with State policies, PMBOK, and California Project Management Framework (PMF) to analyze, manage, monitor, report progress, and meet requirements
Requirements
- Must possess a bachelor’s-level degree from a recognized college or university (copy of degree upon request)
- Alternatively, qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis (if no degree, total of 9 years experience required to meet MQ #3)
- Must possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) (copy upon request)
- Within the last ten (10) years, minimum of seven (7) years of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible experience applying PM principles, methods, techniques, and tools (nine (9) or more years preferred)
- Within the last ten (10) years, at least four (4) years of experience as a senior PM for one or more large or complex IT projects (six (6) years preferred)
- Within the last ten (10) years, minimum of four (4) years of experience providing diverse technical and management services to government agencies (six (6) or more years preferred)
- Within the last ten (10) years, minimum of four (4) years of team building, knowledge transfer, and/or mentoring experience (six (6) or more years preferred)
- Within the last ten (10) years, minimum of four (4) years of experience leading and facilitating team meetings (six (6) or more years preferred)
- Within the last ten (10) years, minimum of four (4) years’ experience in: a) Schedule management and Microsoft (MS) Project; b) Risk and issue management; c) Stakeholder management; d) Scope and change management; e) Business process review and gap analysis; f) Consulting experience for a project worth at least $5M; g) Experience as a lead on an Agile-based project using Agile tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Must be able to provide one (1) end client reference from previous engagements within the last ten (10) years (reference must be a company representative with management/supervisory role; subcontractors may not be listed)
- References should be available and responsive, English-speaking, and contact numbers limited to the continental U.S. only
