About the role
- Develop basic, routine analysis using reliability tools and methods to determine the cause of asset failures and capacity reduction
- Assist in implementing improvements to enhance asset effectiveness, availability, and maintainability
- Create conceptual designs, final designs, and cost estimates for mechanical aspects of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds
- Ensure alignment of mechanical designs with customer requirements, building codes, and regulations
- Maintain the accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines
- Identify errors and document construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements and facility standards
- Support or manage construction projects by providing input on vendor selection, reviewing contractor proposals, and liaising with governmental agencies
- Prepare and present project information to ensure compliance with construction documents, jurisdictional requirements, and project objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and analysis
- 3+ years of experience with Industrial Equipment Maintenance/ Environmental (HVAC) and Mechanical Control Systems
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or a similar CAD package
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (post-start) requiring U.S. Citizenship
- Export control compliance: must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)

- Subject to drug testing per Boeing policies
- Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Preferred: 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience as equipment engineering
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience working in a facilities organization
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience with and/or managing contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in tracking and analyzing fluctuation of costs to ensure accurate forecasting
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in HVAC design, HVAC piping, and plumbing
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with codes including NFPA13, IBC codes, NFPA25
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Scheduling Design & Construction approximate Timetables
