About the role
- Lead development, integration and documentation of structural fatigue and fracture requirements
- Verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results
- Define and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
- Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements
- Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
- Work under minimal direction
- 100% onsite work at Berkeley, MO (selected candidate required to work onsite)
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 3 - 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 3+ years work-related experience with a Masters OR a PhD
- Level 4 - 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 7+ years work-related experience with a Masters OR 4+ years of work-related experience with a PhD
- 3+ years of work-related experience performing structural fatigue and fracture analysis
- Experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis
- Ability to develop technical reports and present results
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with fixed wing military aircraft platforms (preferred)
- Knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and it’s requirements (preferred)
- Experience with Spectrum Generation (preferred)
- Experience with Full-Scale Fatigue Testing and/or other structural and material testing plans (preferred)
- Strong oral and written communications skills
