About the role

  • Contribute to investigating Value Package Introduction (VPI) program team or field-based issues and recommend appropriate action
  • Own problem resolution from a design perspective and document results with guidance
  • Apply and support processes such as Critical Design Decisions, System Design and Validation Consideration Checklist, Design Review
  • Use tools and methods including iDFMEA, DVA, GD&T, CREO, ANSYS Workbench to enable component and subsystem-level design decision making and refinement
  • Support obtaining input and negotiating with cross-functional and cross-discipline technical experts to communicate component and subsystem design intent
  • Prepare thorough Design Review packages for Product Preceding Technology (PPT), VPI, or VPCR teams
  • Support design decision making for concept selection, concept optimization, and design specifications impacting target customers
  • Support problem resolution for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services under supervision
  • Coordinate limited work among technicians and/or temporary student employees when needed
  • Contribute effectively toward team goals and develop proficiency in critical competency areas

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university
  • Minimum 2.5 or above GPA preferred
  • Must be able to complete a minimum of 4-months to 6-months or a maximum of a 12-months commitment
  • Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
  • Willingness to learn from others on the job
  • Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.

  • Familiarity or willingness to learn tools and methods: iDFMEA, DVA, GD&T, CREO, ANSYS Workbench
