About the role
- Work directly with customers & program teammates including systems engineering, software engineering, mission systems, platform systems, flight engineering, production and flight testing
- Assess aircraft hardware/software/firmware design to identify potential safety hazards and propose solutions to reduce or eliminate hazards
- Safety hazard analysis across development, modification and operational phases of fighter jets
- Participate in investigation of in-service fleet safety issues including in-flight emergencies, mishaps and near-misses (senior members)
- Participate in tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify system meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements
- Create and maintain aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and processes
- Document safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards
- Create and maintain safety and corrective action plans
- Support mission assurance activities throughout the program lifecycle
- Participate in establishing global safety advocacy strategies, training, tools, and methods
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2+ years of experience in aerospace systems including safety hazard analysis, environmental safety, air vehicle subsystems design & test, software design & test, hazardous material management or aircraft maintenance
- Ability to travel 10%
- U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) for export control compliance
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Drug Free Workplace compliance (post offer testing)
