About the role
- Process member purchases courteously and efficiently, including scanning merchandise and accepting payments
- Verify, renew, upgrade, and offer membership products; execute Acquisition 365 and cross-sell My BJs Perks
- Perform online order fulfillment (BOPIC, BOPIC Fresh, Curbside, Express Pay, Ship from Club)
- Pull merchandise from pick lists, build and shrink-wrap packages, move merchandise between sales floor and staging
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of front-line departments and specific departments (produce, bakery, deli, meat)
- Proof and bake bakery goods, unpack from freezer, and follow bakery production charts and safety standards
- Slice, package, weigh, and merchandise deli products and maintain deli display cleanliness
- Receive, rotate, cut, wrap, grind, and merchandise meats and assist with seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and rotisserie areas
- Provide excellent member assistance and product knowledge across departments
Requirements
- Excellent member service and customer service skills
- Ability to process member purchases, verify, renew, upgrade, and offer membership products
- Experience scanning merchandise and accepting various forms of payments / Point of Sale operation
- Ability to perform general warehouse activities including pulling merchandise from a pick list, physical breakdown of merchandise, building and shrink-wrapping packages
- Ability to use handheld scanner to verify merchandise counts and update merchandise locations
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment
- Produce handling knowledge to sort, display, remove, and replenish fresh fruits and vegetables
- Bakery skills to proof and bake goods and follow product handling and safe storage instructions
- Deli skills to slice, package, weigh, and sell deli products
- Meat cutting skills to receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats
