About the role

  • Prepare, review, and submit claims to insurance payers (commercial and government)
  • Work with Optum/Change Healthcare Billing System to ensure accurate billing processes
  • Utilize Cerner for patient account management and charge entry
  • Review claims for accuracy and compliance before submission
  • Research and resolve payer rejections, denials, and underpayments
  • Follow up on outstanding AR balances to ensure timely collections
  • Maintain current knowledge of payer requirements, regulations, and billing guidelines
  • Collaborate with hospital staff and other departments for claim resolutions
  • Ensure accurate claim submission, timely reimbursements, and reduction of denials to keep the revenue cycle flowing smoothly

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in hospital billing and accounts receivable
  • Strong knowledge of all payers (commercial and government insurance programs)
  • Hands-on experience with Optum/Change Healthcare Billing Systems and Cerner
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Amenable to work during U.S. business working hours
  • Device: Personal computer with Intel Core i5 or higher, or AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
  • Internet: Wired connection with at least 50 Mbps download speed, plus a backup connection
  • Work Environment: Quiet, well-lit space with minimal background noise
