About the role
- Serve as a Consultant on DoD financial data standards, supporting both financial leadership and technical teams
- Interpret and apply USSGL, SFIS, Tie Point, and Posting Logic standards
- Analyze financial transactions for accuracy and alignment with DoD financial policy
- Support system and data validation efforts to ensure correct implementation of posting logic and tie points
- Develop and review financial reports, reconciliations, and documentation to support internal controls and audit readiness
- Liaise with stakeholders to translate policy guidance into actionable data/reporting requirements
- Provide input on system enhancements, testing, and implementation strategies for financial compliance initiatives
Requirements
- Extensive experience in DoD financial reporting and compliance
- Strong expertise in: USSGL (U.S. Standard General Ledger)
- Strong expertise in: SFIS (Standard Financial Information Structure)
- Strong expertise in: Tie Points and reconciliation logic
- Strong expertise in: Posting Logic for journal entry transactions
- Deep understanding of DoD financial management regulations, policy, and audit requirements
- Experience supporting federal financial system design, reporting, or internal control activities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for both technical and policy audiences
- Secret clearance required
