Enrollment Specialist

• Assess the eligibility of volunteers and mentees for participation in the program
• Conduct volunteer enrollment processes, including orientations, interviews, home visits
• Facilitate client enrollments through parent/child interviews and safety education
• Identify families needing additional services and make appropriate referrals
• Maintain engagement with Ready to be Matched (RTBM) youth and families
• Partner with schools for youth referrals
• Conduct volunteer and client reassessments as needed
• Analyze enrollment information to recommend participants and match volunteers
• Provide thorough assessments and match recommendations based on evaluations
• Maintain accurate, timely records using technology for reporting and analysis
• Facilitate in-person match meetings and manage related schedules
• Provide ongoing support for matches focusing on safety, development, and satisfaction
• Identify and address potential challenges within matches

Enrollment Specialist, Spanish Speaking

Bilingual

• Manage program for youth age 14+ to determine a high school and post-secondary plan for their future
• Build awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters of LI through presentations, speaking engagements, in-person meetings and networking with schools/educators, community organizations, corporations, faith-based institutions, and other appropriate groups
• Plan, facilitate and host educational and vocational workshops for Mentees on High School proficiency test requirements, college readiness and career topics
• Plan and facilitate monthly or bi-weekly sessions for in person meetings with students and mentors
• Coordinate pre-vocational services, organize, and plan career exploration activities and trips; conduct job readiness workshops and training to youth in order to make them more employable
• Plan and execute various aspects of match activities and other program enhancements for participants of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island Rise Up program
• Support mentees by connecting participants with external community partners and resources, both through established agency partnerships as well as creating new collaborations
• Create and manage curricula development; prepare training materials for match participants
• Responsible for consistent and ongoing communication with school personnel, college administrators, Volunteers and business professionals building strong relationships to assist in growing the program
• Identify and implement growth strategies to achieve long-term vision of impact on youth in our program – this includes program expansion and scale
• Manages execution of grant deliverables
• Liaise with the Board, Education leaders, Employers, and key external partners to increase scale and impact of Program
• Attend/participate in agency sponsored events

Customer Support

• Support and supervise a designated caseload according to the Agency’s policies and procedures
• Conduct enrollment interviews for volunteers and clients
• Obtain signed application, consent forms, references, background checks, etc.
• Regularly scheduled match supervision on the phone and/or in person
• Attendance at match activities as directed by supervisor
• Evaluation and documentation of outcomes for caseload
• Conduct match closure meetings in person
• Facilitate the school/site-based programs by organizing and overseeing activities
• Maintain relations with appropriate school/site personnel
• Attend scheduled meetings of site-based mentoring programs
• Provide statistical information and reports to supervisor on a monthly basis

Match Support Specialist, Bilingual Preferred

Recruitment

• Conduct 70 to 100 outreach and orientation phone calls daily.
• Build awareness of the organization through presentations, speaking engagements, in-person meetings, and networking with schools, community organizations, corporations, faith-based institutions, and other relevant groups.
• Manage and develop partnerships: Design and implement a recruitment strategy tailored to targeted Long Island neighborhoods.
• Generate applications: Implement a strategic plan to engage youth and families, assisting them throughout the enrollment process.
• Attend external events, including fairs, community board, and neighborhood meetings.
• Strengthen the brand: Plan and execute community events to promote the organization’s mission and mentorship needs.
• Represent the organization as a spokesperson at community events and potential media engagements.
• Collaborate with the Digital Content Creator to create digital recruitment materials and social media campaigns.
• Assist in developing marketing materials for recruitment efforts.
• Conduct orientation sessions for new participants.
• Attend and participate in agency-sponsored events.
• Additional duties as assigned.
