About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess the eligibility of volunteers and mentees for participation in the program
- Conduct volunteer enrollment processes, including orientations, interviews, home visits
- Facilitate client enrollments through parent/child interviews and safety education
- Identify families needing additional services and make appropriate referrals
- Maintain engagement with Ready to be Matched (RTBM) youth and families
- Partner with schools for youth referrals
- Conduct volunteer and client reassessments as needed
- Analyze enrollment information to recommend participants and match volunteers
- Provide thorough assessments and match recommendations based on evaluations
- Maintain accurate, timely records using technology for reporting and analysis
- Facilitate in-person match meetings and manage related schedules
- Provide ongoing support for matches focusing on safety, development, and satisfaction
- Identify and address potential challenges within matches
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Experience in the social services field is preferred
- Familiarity with psychological diagnoses and medications is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word)
- New York State Driver’s License and the ability to travel across Nassau/Suffolk Counties
