About the role

  • Manage, motivate and develop a sales team to maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities across the South Central Region to deliver profitable revenue growth for the SME division.
  • Manage and influence day-to-day and strategic issues within the new business team.
  • Drive return on sales through planned, objective management of the sales team's activities and processes.
  • Ensure Biffa stays ahead in service offering, business model and operating methods.
  • Deliver sales teams' target performance at regional and depot level.
  • Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual new business targets.
  • Manage a sales territory and/or prospect lists for business opportunities.
  • Report calls, leads, quotes and contract activity into the Company Operating System.
  • Produce and present weekly, monthly and quarterly personal performance reports.
  • Liaise with Depot Manager / RGM to determine and roll out sales offensives within the region.
  • Act as the primary interface between Biffa and target customers.
  • Responsible for sales prospecting and pricing negotiations.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in managing a Field sales team.
  • Proven track record in sales selling contracted services.
  • Strong Commercial background and awareness.
