About the role
- Support definition, execution, and documentation of verification activities for certifying electric aircraft High Voltage systems
- Decompose requirements and write test cases
- Lead and collaborate with others towards certification efforts
- Verify that high voltage energy storage designs meet requirements and support certification
- Design, test, and bring to production new battery packs and components
- Solve problems hands-on and perform tests (including outdoor tests)
- Participate in traceability audits and verification tooling workflows (Polarion, JIRA, Confluence)
- Do whatever job is needed to solve problems and make the team better
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University
- Understanding of Battery energy storage systems
- Self-starter who is well organized, disciplined, team player, is detail oriented, and has communication and leadership skills
- Experience with requirements-based testing and traceability audits
- Comfortable working with verification tooling such as Polarion, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience verifying hardware systems
- Desire to learn, experiment, and make others around you better
- Extensive knowledge of Battery design strategies and practices including thermal runaway and crash (preferred)
- Background in aerospace or automotive verification & validation (preferred)
- Familiarity with CAN or other vehicle bus protocols (preferred)
- Prior work in a certifying environment (Part 23, 25, 27, 29 or DO-based programs) (preferred)
- Ability to transport yourself to various BETA locations around Burlington as needed
- Able to work in a dog-friendly and open-office environment
- Work will occasionally be outdoors when supporting tests
