About the role
- Proactively originate high-quality venture debt opportunities by leveraging and expanding a deep network of VC partners, founders, and advisors.
- Act as an ambassador to the startup ecosystem, cultivating long-term relationships with stakeholders to ensure we are the first call for growth capital.
- Own the deal lifecycle—from initial structuring and term sheet negotiation to final closing—working cross-functionally with credit and legal teams.
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert on market shifts, competitor moves, and emerging tech sectors to refine our lending strategy.
- Elevate the firm’s brand by maintaining a high-profile presence at industry events and contributing to our thought leadership.
- Facilitate training for new venture banking team members.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in Venture Banking, venture capital, private equity or leveraged finance with a technology industry focus.
- Previous experience in a senior banker role where they have sponsored deals throughout the lifecycle (origination, deal structuring, committee approval, portfolio management, etc.).
- Strong underwriting and portfolio management skills
- Results driven.
- Financial modeling experience and comfort
- Thrives in a dynamic and remote work environment
- Skilled communicator (written and verbal)
- Strong ability to lead and motivate junior staff
- Ability to interpret financial data and reports and when necessary, recommend appropriate actions
- Ensures absolute confidentiality in all areas of responsibility
