About the role
- Create multiple view 3D and 2D drawings with accurate details, section views, and dimensions for shop, fabrication, and installation in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Revise drawings in accordance with marked-up prints, sketches, written, or verbal instructions provided by other team members
- Create bill of materials and change order lists to communicate job requirements that ensure order accuracy
- Collaborate within the team to understand the project requirements and bring forward recommendations
- Coordinate drawings with architects, engineers, and other consultants as needed
- Research and obtain specifications/details from vendors for custom items as required
- Provide technical support to internal customers
- Lead space planning, layout, and utilization of furnishings, both new and existing, using understanding for value engineering and furniture supply chain program
- Adhere to schedules and adapt to changes as needed
- Accountable for accuracy of design and take-off for technical and process standards
- Maintain knowledge of lab furniture market, supplier base, and SEFA laboratory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Engineering is highly preferred
- 2+ years in drafting/design role with a high-volume organization preferred
- Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD required
- Experience working on lab renovations or new construction is highly preferred
- Experience with metal casework is a plus
- Experience with 2020, SAP, and/or C4C is a plus
- Experience with Bluebeam is a plus
- A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to read and understand specifications, construction documents, and architectural drawings
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- High level of motivation and problem-solving
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good mathematical skills
