Assess supplier capabilities and market positioning using industry cost models; proactively research and anticipate shifts in supplier leverage within assigned categories.
Analyze category-specific cost drivers and challenge conventional approaches by introducing innovative insights and strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to implement agreements and contracts, ensuring alignment on terms and conditions.
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify risks, safeguard service continuity, and capitalize on new opportunities.
Demonstrate proficiency in RFx processes, contribute to vendor selection, and cultivate long-term supplier partnerships.
Maintain and enhance supplier relationships through active engagement, including participation in trade shows, supplier meetings, and industry conferences.
Provide timely support for forecasting renewals, demand planning, and service expansion needs, based on vendor lead times and business requirements.
Align sourcing activities with short- and long-term company planning and budgeting to support strategic business objectives.
Contribute to the vendor governance program by tracking performance metrics, driving improvement initiatives, and ensuring accountability with key suppliers.
Ensure compliance with established sourcing policies and standardized processes across all sourcing activities.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve operational efficiency and productivity within the sourcing organization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
6+ years’ experience in either Sourcing or Procurement industry
4+ or more years’ experience in category and contract management for Indirect categories such as Call Centers/BPO, Professional Services, HR, etc.
Commitment to supplier diversity
Ability to manage projects and accountable to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria)
Good knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to third-party agreements and contracts
Advanced skills and working knowledge of MS Office and MS Excel
Must have strong presentation and communication skills.
Ability to interact with multiple levels of executive leadership within Assurant and the supplier.
