About the role
- Support the development and implementation of category sourcing strategies for assigned categories to meet business objectives.
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and developing strategic suppliers, managing relationships, and ensuring contract adherence and performance.
- Analyze market trends, category conditions, and industry changes to inform procurement decisions and strategies.
- Support the negotiation and management of contracts, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, and performance parameters.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including business partners, legal, and finance, to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
- Monitor and report on supplier and category performance, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the assigned categories and subcategories, their cost structures and broad supply base.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or Related Business Field or 5+ years relevant experience in an industry/procurement role.
- Ability to interpret data and market intelligence to uncover cost-saving opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve best value.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present information effectively.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
- Experience with price and cost analysis, market research and trend analysis.
- Knowledge of industry standard Procurement systems, tools and processes to streamline processes and identify opportunities.
- Preferred, relevant professional certification (CPSM, IACCM, PMP) - Preferred.
- Preferred, program/project management skills.
