About the role
- Act as lead solution designer on strategic initiatives (new enterprise applications, critical enhancements)
- Write and maintain high-level solution design documents capturing business requirements, technical approach, and system interactions
- Break down deliverables with the PMO, ensuring scope, timelines, and dependencies are defined
- Create and communicate architecture diagrams illustrating integrations, data flows, and system dependencies
- Coordinate with development and delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed
- Define system integration approaches, data flows, and dependencies across the technology stack
- Evaluate tradeoffs between standard functionality vs. customization and provide pragmatic recommendations
- Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful implementations, including requirements, data readiness, change management, and ownership
- Assess opportunities to leverage AI and automation capabilities and partner with the AI Solution Architect
- Chair the Enterprise Architecture Review Board (EARB) and contribute to application rationalization and fiscal technology planning
- Provide architectural recommendations and executive-level presentations on project impacts and tradeoffs
- Ensure implementations are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards
- Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, vendors, and delivery teams
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree an asset
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems solution design, with exposure to SaaS applications
- Salesforce expertise (proven hands-on knowledge of Salesforce capabilities, configuration, and integration patterns)
- Strong understanding of system integrations, data flows, and SaaS ecosystems
- Proven ability to design and lead implementations of enterprise applications or large enhancements
- Experience writing solution design documents and architecture diagrams
- Experience working with PMO/project managers to scope and deliver projects
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns (APIs, iPaaS such as Workato, ETL pipelines)
- Familiarity with data platforms (Snowflake, DBT, Tableau, or similar)
- Awareness of AI and automation trends in enterprise SaaS (e.g., Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, Workato Copilot)
- Ability to identify where AI can enhance workflows, integrations, and decision-making
- Experience with other enterprise platforms considered an asset (ERPs, HRIS)
- Comfortable leading governance forums (architecture or procurement review boards)
- Strong communication and influencing skills
