About the role
- Perform network design, engineering and troubleshooting support for classified programs
- Maintain network availability for servers, storage and backup systems
- Troubleshoot port security issues, VLAN issues and network outages
- Control network management activities, data flows and firewall rules
- Build network topologies to deliver content from specific providers to users
- Design, implement or maintain networks for LAN and WAN systems
- Provide engineering designs, and plans for installation, integration, testing, upgrade, analysis, and maintenance/expansion of the network environment
- Prepare technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and design documents in support network upgrades and new mission requirements
- Provide on-site coverage as part of team for 5 day x 12 hours/day operations
Requirements
- Top Secret security clearance poly eligible
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or similar technical field
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- 8570 compliance (IAT Level 2) such as CompTIA Security +
- 9 years of hands-on experience and expertise Cisco Network Administration or Network Engineering
- 2 years of hands-on experience supporting CentOS/RHEL Linux Systems
- Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Firewalls
- Understand the operation of network protocols and Firewall packet and proxy filters
- Experience leading classified network architecture, design, and documentation
- Experience with virtual systems, Rubric, and/or VX-Rail
- Strong teamwork, communication (both verbal and written), and presentation skills
- Strong initiative to accept new technical challenges in complex system engineering assignments
