About the role
- Lead and mentor a dedicated provisioning services team responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure using OpenTofu and other IaC tools
- Oversee the development and automation of cloud provisioning workflows across Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Ensure provisioning practices align with security, compliance, and operational standards
- Drive adoption of immutable infrastructure and as-a-service models across engineering teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evolve infrastructure roadmaps
- Promote best practices in infrastructure design, including multi-region deployments, high availability, and stateless/stateful architectures
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence within the provisioning domain
- Identify creative solutions for technical challenges
Requirements
- 5+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experience
- Extensive experience leading engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions, and managing HR-related duties to support team development and organizational alignment
- Able to mentor different teams across the various engineering practices including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as code
- Hands-on style - willingness and competence in producing necessary changes in our infrastructure and processes
- Adept at facilitating diverse teams across time zones, multi-tasking, and working under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets
- Proven experience leading teams in cloud provisioning and automation, especially with Terraform or OpenTofu
- Strong understanding of infrastructure lifecycle management, including versioning, testing, and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable infrastructure solutions
- Experience mentoring engineers in extreme programming, cloud-native architectures, and IaC principles
- Solid ability to communicate effectively and present ideas & solutions across groups of diverse backgrounds
- Terraform Authoring and Operations Professional
- Four-year degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related area preferred
