About the role

  • Architect and champion the strategic roadmap for Aiven's PostgreSQL service, focusing on enterprise performance, reliability, and security.
  • Redefine developer experience for the low end of the market and drive adoption across all customer scales.
  • Drive innovation of PostgreSQL capabilities tailored to power AI agent workflows and intelligent applications.
  • Expand PostgreSQL business via cloud partners and make the service attractive across platforms beyond hyperscalers.
  • Own the entire customer journey from free tier to enterprise, leveraging data gravity for adoption and expansion.
  • Shape market perception through developer marketing, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships.
  • Enable Sales with product vision, messaging, and tools to close deals.
  • Balance innovation investments with 24/7 stability, durability, and reliability responsibilities.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-agency product team in partnership with engineering management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align product, sales, marketing, and customer success efforts.
  • Define and optimize key performance indicators that measure enterprise growth and developer-market expansion.
  • Represent and contribute to the PostgreSQL community and adjacent technical communities on behalf of Aiven.

Requirements

  • Deep PostgreSQL mastery and unparalleled technical depth in PostgreSQL and its ecosystem.
  • Experience architecting and owning a product roadmap for enterprise-grade database services.
  • Proven product leadership experience building developer experience for low-end markets and enterprise growth.
  • Experience driving next-gen capabilities for AI agent workflows and intelligent applications.
  • Experience with cloud-native environments and working with cloud partners beyond hyperscalers.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to enable growth and go-to-market.
  • Experience building, mentoring and leading engineering/product teams.
  • Strong ability to define, track and optimize KPIs for product growth and adoption.
  • Experience in community engagement and thought leadership within PostgreSQL or adjacent tech communities.
