About the role
- Monitor supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), product defects (NCR), and waste
- Communicate engineering and manufacturing specifications to supplier technical teams
- Serve as back-up to the Supplier Quality Engineer for problem solving, root cause analysis, supplier technical issue resolution, and performance improvement projects
- Perform quality and performance data analysis and provide to management for Business/Management Review meetings
- Lead corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities, root cause analysis, FMEA, and quality/risk management tools
- Perform audits to verify implementation and effectiveness of CAPA plans and conduct internal Quality System and quality assurance audits (ISO9001/AS9100, FAA, DOD)
- Lead Quality Systems audits and escort external auditors
- Guide operational departments with technical writing & approvals of QMS documents (procedures, work instructions, forms)
- Provide education and guidance for Quality Systems processes and conduct new hire and ongoing Quality Systems training
- Document minutes for Business/Management Review and CAPA meetings
- Regular scheduled attendance is an essential function; travel <5%
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a technical field; or 2 years related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BS in management, technical, or related field preferred or demonstrated relevant and equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 3-5 years related experience in a quality systems or continuous improvement related capacity
- Strong knowledge and understanding of FAA conformity/airworthiness regulations and procedures a plus
- Quality/supplier auditing experience a plus
- Previous management experience a plus
- ASQ-CQA Preferred; Six Sigma Quality Certification a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Access, Share Point)
- Previous experience with database/software configuration
- Excellent organization skills and ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, reasoning skills, and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Regular scheduled attendance; subject to Air Methods policies
- Willingness to travel (< 5%)
