About the role
- Support quality planning during the earliest phases of the Product Development Process (PDP)
- Build design quality foundations through risk management, lessons learned, and critical design reviews
- Apply APQP tools such as FMEA, control plans, and drawing reviews
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews (Electrical, Mechanical, and Systems) and provide quality feedback
- Collaborate with engineering to review drawings for critical design aspects and tolerance checks
- Support preparation of Quality Plans and part qualification activities for prototype builds and supplier transition
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related field)
- 5+ years of industry experience in product development, manufacturing, or in a quality-related role
- Experience with APQP tools (FMEA, SPC, PPAP)
- Experienced with process control practices (PCBA assembly, plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, system assembly, and test)
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerancing, and qualification for new parts and assemblies
- Experience with structured problem solving (8D) and data analysis
- Ability to summarize and provide project meeting level communication
- Experience facilitating FMEA and performing drawing reviews
