About the role
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Directors & Managers to achieve growth targets for Acuity’s electronics portfolio (nLight, SensorSwitch, Pathway, eldoLED, IOTA, embedded technologies)
- Set annual sales goals, monitor performance, and hold the team accountable to execution and results; manage team operational expense budget
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives with channel leadership, agents, and vertical market leaders; adjust strategies based on market intelligence
- Provide senior-level technical guidance and support market development to position solutions and win complex, high-value opportunities
- Consolidate market insights to inform product development and influence Acuity’s innovation roadmap; monitor national market trends and competitor activities
- Oversee training, enablement, and talent development; align CEU presentations, technical training, and partner education with sales priorities; mentor Sales Managers
- Serve as senior liaison between C&I Electronics Sales and Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Experience to align go-to-market messaging and launches
- Lead annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, define KPIs, use analytics to drive accountability, prioritize market investments and measure ROI of initiatives
- Remote, home office–based role with significant domestic and international travel to engage customers, partners, and regional sales teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of sales leadership experience in lighting controls, components, or electronics, with a proven record of managing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans across multi-channel distribution networks
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to translate product capabilities into customer value propositions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
- Experience engaging across the full construction and sales channel—including designers, engineers, contractors, and distributors
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 51-75% of the time
