Maintain books for multiple clients on an accrual basis, often with support from Assistants or Accountants
Complete timely and accurate monthly close process and financial reporting, including class reporting, job-costing, analysis of account categories and trends
Manage accounts receivable process including unbilled revenue, deferred income, and bad debt allowances
Manage accounts payable process including vendor bills and online payments
Prepare cash management flash reports
Track inventory and identify unusual or unexpected results
Manage fixed asset and intangible asset accounting, depreciation and amortization schedules, and related journal entries for acquisitions/disposals
Process payroll and review payroll reports (W-2, W-3, 941, state U/E)
Support budgets, forecasts, and annual audits by gathering documentation
Record and maintain financing transactions (loans, investments) and classify commitments
Evaluate lease contracts for short-term/long-term classification
Calculate and prepare tax forms and payments (sales & use tax, property tax, business tax, franchise tax)
Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end payroll inclusions
Update and maintain KPI data, dashboards, reports and budgets in Jirav
Own and update the Client Procedure Manual
Research and resolve technical accounting issues and recommend process improvements
Lead client meetings, provide high-level customer service, and partner with third-party advisors
Track time on engagements, manage work to meet deadlines within time budgets, and assist on special projects
Pursue continuous learning and drive process improvements through technology
Requirements
5+ years performing full charge bookkeeping
2+ years using QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices and procedures
Enhanced knowledge of financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, prepaids/accruals, capitalization, financing, job costing and regulatory tax requirements
Experience with payroll processing using Intuit or other third-party payroll applications and review of W-2, W-3, 941, and state U/E
Ability to identify and resolve payroll issues
Experience tracking inventory and managing fixed assets and intangible assets including depreciation and amortization schedules
Experience with accounts receivable (including unbilled revenue, deferred income, bad debt allowances) and accounts payable (vendor bills, online payments)
Experience with loans, investments, lease evaluation, and tax filings (sales & use tax, property tax, business tax, franchise tax)
Experience preparing 1099s and year-end payroll inclusions
