About the role
- Establish and build senior-level relationships with non-acute distribution partners to drive new profitable sales and expand utilization.
- Understand and assess customer business issues and objectives and present innovative ID solutions.
- Lead internal teams without direct authority and manage Regional partners.
- Manage distributor relationships: collaborate to understand needs, ensure timely communication, and resolve issues.
- Drive product growth: manage sales activities with distributors, identify expansion opportunities, and design strategies based on sales data.
- Drive field collaboration between Abbott field sales/management and distributor sales/management at a regional level.
- Evaluate and communicate the value of selling through distribution to Abbott sales reps and managers; coordinate with Sales and Marketing to win larger deals.
- Establish and track KPIs related to distribution excellence; evaluate distributor performance and manage regional performance to achieve annual sales goals.
- Coordinate routine business reviews (may include Abbott and distributor C-suite) and conduct business reviews with Regional and Area leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of relevant sales experience in the Point of Care, Diagnostics or Healthcare Capital Equipment industry
- 4+ years working with distribution partners
- Must be willing to travel 70% (Overnight travel required)
- Background of success in value-based solution-selling
- Ability to form and develop long-term strategic interpersonal, professional senior level relationships; influence without direct authority
- Executive level business and financial acumen with strong negotiation skills
- Incumbent to live in a major metro area (ideally based in Kansas City, St. Louis or Oklahoma City)
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck (per significant work activities)
