About the role
- Configure and maintain Workday Core HCM functionalities and ensure accurate worker data management and organizational updates
- Design and configure time-off and leave plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and calendar setups
- Troubleshoot and resolve absence balance discrepancies and time-off transaction issues
- Ensure compliance with global/local leave policies
- Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday Business Processes (Hire, Job change, Termination, Time-off request, Manager change)
- Define condition rules, approval chains, notifications, and security policies within workflows
- Collaborate with functional stakeholders to redesign or optimize workflows to reduce cycle time and eliminate bottlenecks
- Monitor system performance and recommend optimization strategies (streamline calculated fields, minimize custom validations, reduce unnecessary BP steps)
- Perform regular system audits and data quality checks
- Serve as key point of contact for day-to-day Workday issues and provide Tier-2/3 support
- Analyze root causes and implement long-term fixes
- Participate in unit testing, system testing, and UAT; document test cases and assist with release management
- Work closely with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to translate functional requirements into technical configurations
- Maintain up-to-date configuration documents, process maps, and training guides; educate end-users and HRIS team members on changes
Requirements
- Must have either of Bachelor's/Master's degree: BTech/MTech/BSc/MS/BCA/MCA
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Workday Core HCM and Absence Management or similar modules
- Should have experience in workflow configuration and maintenance
- Should have supported L2/L3 level tickets from different stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Self-starter with problem-solving skills and an eye for process improvements
