About the role

  • The Workday Architect will lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our Workday HCM system
  • Serve as the platform owner and primary point of accountability for Workday, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and a superior user experience
  • Lead Workday roadmap planning and governance, aligning with organizational priorities and identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
  • Manage and optimize Workday security architecture and role-based access controls
  • Partner with functional users to lead system testing, including test planning, execution support, and issue resolution
  • Lead production support efforts: triage issues, resolve bugs, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
  • Stay current on Workday releases and functionality enhancements and recommend innovative solutions that improve system performance and user experience
  • Oversee vendor and partner relationships related to Workday, including implementation partners, managed services, and support vendors
  • Ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness across all Workday modules and associated integrations
  • Establish and monitor platform health metrics, system performance indicators, and usage analytics to drive continuous improvement
  • Analyze and refine requirements with HR users and vendors to collect and consult
  • Champion and drive user adoption and change management strategies related to Workday enhancements and new functionality
  • Partner with HR to develop and refine actionable reports and user-friendly dashboards that inform decision-making

Requirements

  • Deep experience across Workday HCM and other modules
  • Strong technical acumen with hands-on experience in Workday
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of leading multiple concurrent initiatives across Workday modules
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex problems and design scalable, sustainable solutions
  • Collaborative and proactive, with strong consultative and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments and navigating competing priorities
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with compliance, SOX, and data governance standards in relation to HR systems is a plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of/experience with project management tools
  • Knowledge of or experience with agile delivery methodologies preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of experience supporting and managing Workday HCM systems, including at least 3 years in a senior or architect-level role
  • Proven track record leading multiple end-to-end Workday implementations and enhancement projects
  • Workday certification in HCM, Advanced Compensation, Timekeeping, Payroll and other relevant modules preferred
  • Familiarity with payroll regulations and processes strongly preferred
