• Update projection models; review model output and communicate results
• Document existing processes along with ideas for model/assumption refinements and process improvements
• Collaborate with subject matter experts within the employee benefits division to ensure projections are aligned with company operations and expectations

• Lead our group pricing function for our Employee Benefits Life, Absence and Disability $4b block of business.
• Play a key role in growing profits through strategic pricing decisions, industry insights, superior analytics and innovative solutions.

• Oversee reinsurance for our group benefit products to facilitate and maintain appropriate levels of risk retention.

Assistant Vice President, Actuary – Life, Absence & Disability Pricing

• Help support key financial and rate setting work for Oregon’s Medicaid program.
• Develop capitation rates for Medicaid Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) and other entities.
• Review financial reports and monitor CCO solvency.
• Work with actuarial vendors and provide analysis supporting transparency and long-term stability in Oregon’s coordinated care system.
• Translate complex actuarial and financial information into clear, practical guidance for decision‑makers.
• Support long‑term planning, including preparation for HR1 and review of new federal requirements.

• Overseeing Business‑as‑Usual (BAU) execution, workflow coordination, and team operations for a defined modeling scope.
• Coordinating day‑to‑day workflow, tracking deliverables, and ensuring outputs meet quality and timing expectations.
• Providing first‑round review and quality assurance for routine actuarial outputs.

Manager, Actuary – Actuarial Modeling Team

• The Standard is seeking a talented Actuary to join our Employee Benefits (EB) division, supporting products such as disability, group life and AD&D, dental, and vision.
• In this role, you’ll influence product strategy and results, working closely with senior leadership across actuarial and multidisciplinary business teams.
• Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, analyzing business results, and presenting insights to business units and executive leadership.
• In this role, you will represent the actuarial perspective, identify key drivers and trends, and help improve processes and tools through a continuous improvement mindset.
• A strong attention to detail and ability to review and challenge work are critical to ensuring accurate, insightful analysis and clear executive communication.

Senior Actuary – EB

• Manage the actuarial and financial components of value-based payment (VBP) activity and provider network reimbursement models
• Provide input in the development of VBP and other reimbursement models
• Operationalize reporting and settlement calculations, analyze performance, and communicate results and findings
• Collaborate with internal leaders to develop and maintain quality incentive payment strategies and risk models
• Advise leadership on improving CareOregon’s strategic and financial positioning
• Act as a subject matter expert on value-based payment models
• Ensure monthly and quarterly reporting is produced in accordance with contractual terms
• Analyze performance and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve quality
