About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead our group pricing function for our Employee Benefits Life, Absence and Disability $4b block of business.
  • Play a key role in growing profits through strategic pricing decisions, industry insights, superior analytics and innovative solutions.
  • Develop and execute pricing philosophy, strategy and tactical actions to achieve long term business objectives.
  • Oversee reinsurance for our group benefit products to facilitate and maintain appropriate levels of risk retention.
  • Support product development in partnership with other key stakeholder groups.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent non-US actuarial credential.
  • At least 10 years of post-fellowship experience with significant leadership experience in the group benefits pricing area including Group Life, Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD), Group Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), and Group Dental and Vision experience.
  • Oversee the development of pricing strategies for LAD products to ensure competitive pricing and achieve profitability targets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive risk management with Underwriting and develop reinsurance partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, promoting ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Drive actuarial innovation and best in class actuarial practices.
  • Translate complex actuarial insights into clear, actionable operational and strategic guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
