About the role
- Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering and Data
- Develop a deep understanding of Payments end-to-end, from transaction flows to failure points and operational edge cases
- Define and embed clear, trusted metrics, identifying and resolving gaps in tracking and reporting
- Structure ambiguous performance questions into clear analytical approaches and actionable insight
- Analyse complex transactional data to surface risks, opportunities and drivers of change
- Partner with Product Managers to shape roadmaps, design and evaluate experiments, and model the commercial impact of product changes
- Quantify trade-offs between customer experience, cost efficiency and operational risk
- Deliver high-quality dashboards, diagnostics and deep-dives that directly inform decision-making
- Own analytical projects end-to-end and proactively identify where analytics can create additional value
- Act as the go-to expert for Payments data within the tribe
Requirements
- Ability to bring both rigour and curiosity, enjoying the challenge of turning complex data into clear, decision-driving insight
- Strong SQL skills, with experience working on large, complex datasets
- Experience using BI tools such as Tableau, Looker or Power BI; Python is a bonus
- Experience working in a data-led, fast-paced environment (e.g. fintech, banking, consulting or a high-growth start-up)
- A strong quantitative background combined with excellent attention to detail and sound judgement
- Comfortable operating autonomously and prioritising effectively in ambiguous environments
- Able to translate complex analysis into clear, decision-driving insight
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence constructively and respectfully
- Clear and concise communicator, focused on implications and action
- Organised and thoughtful in documentation and reproducibility
- Motivated to continuously improve and deepen domain expertise
- Nice to have:
